EAHP against counterfeit medicines

On 11 March 2008, Directorate General Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission launched a public consultation seeking comments on its "Key ideas for better protection of patients against the risk of counterfeit medicines for human use" in preparation of a legal proposal.

EAHP answered this consultation and you will find attached its response here, together with the original document from the Commission.

In addition, EAHP signed a letter sent to the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso by 20 non for profit health an consumers organisations, calling on the Commission to act carefully and wisely when dealing with conbatting couterfeited drugs in Europe, for the upcoming draft Directive on the subject, to be part of the so called "pharmaceutical package". You will find a copy of that letter below.

EAHP will carefully monitor the developments in this field.
