Education:

• February 1979: Graduated in Pharmacy
• 1981-1992: Hospital pharmacist in the University Medical Centre, Ljubljana in distribution of drugs, on the wards of the hospital, aseptic preparation: parenteral solutions and total parenteral nutrition, mentor to the students of Faculty of Pharmacy and School for Pharmacy Technicians
• March 1990: Specialization in Pharmaceutical Technology
• 1992-1997: Head of drug preparation laboratory in the University Medical Centre, Ljubljana
• 1995-1997: President of the Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society
• 1996-2009: Active member in the Slovenian Chamber of Pharmacy
• 1997-2010: Director of Hospital Pharmacy in the University Medical Centre, Ljubljana
• Since 2000: Active member of the Managing Board of the EAHP as Director of Professional and Practice Aspects, then as Director of Professional Development to become since 2005 responsible of the survey about hospital pharmacies in the EU contries.
• 2005-2006: Postgraduate studies at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy
• Since 2006: President of the Section of Hospital Pharmacists and a member of the managing board of the Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society.
• Since 2008: Member of the Professional Advisory Board for Pharmacy at the Ministry of Health
• Since 2010: Hospital pharmacist – Quality in the University Medical Centre, Ljubljana

Research area:

Dr. Miharija-Gala was awarded with honours the First Krka Award for her research project and diploma thesis on Investigation of Metiamide and Cimetidine Effects on the Cardiovascular System of Rats. Then she led a research project in Pharmaceutical Technology about Preparation and Quality Control of Eye Drops, as well as International projects (2002 – 2004) in Health Sector Management (Management of Colorectal Cancer) and National Formulary for Tissue Repair.
