EJHP
General Introduction
The European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy has been published in English since 1995, publishing mainly scientific peer reviewed papers submitted by European hospital pharmacists, covering a range of clinical, scientific and practice topics.

From 2002 onwards, the Journal evolved to its current format with cover and feature stories, clinical updates, conference reports, country focus, technical and therapeutic developments and other editorial elements.

In January 2004, the Board of EAHP with the support of nine EAHP member countries, decided to publish EJHP in two editions: EJHP Practice and EJHP Science. Starting from 2005, EJHP is published in two editions - EJHP Practice - the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy Practice, and from March 2005 onwards, a science edition – EJHP Science - the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy Science, published and distributed together.

The Journal is published six times per year (bi-monthly) and distributed to more than 17,000 European hospital pharmacists (readership) in 28 EU countries. Readership and authorship from non-European countries is also encouraged. The Journal adapted a new layout in 2006 to enhance reader’s interest and attention.

The Journal is freely available online (www.eahp.eu/ejhp). All published articles and our guidance for authors can be downloaded in PDF format. The Journal offers a unique communication and continuing education medium for all European hospital pharmacists. Circulation Profile
As it is the official EAHP journal, delivery of the EJHP is guaranteed to European hospital pharmacists who are members of the national association of hospital pharmacists.

In addition, EJHP participates in national and international events to promote awareness and circulation.

EJHP Practice
Scope and profile
The scope of the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy Practice, one of the two official journals of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP), is broad and is of interest and relevance to pharmacists working in all areas of hospital pharmacy. Editorial content published in EJHP Practice will include all aspects of hospital pharmacy, including scientific, clinical, therapeutic, economic and social disciplines. In addition, high quality research papers, reviews and practice guidelines in the field of hospital pharmacy practice, which fall outside the scope of the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy Science, may be considered for the section “Practice Research and Innovation” in the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy Practice and are also subject to peer review. In all cases, the emphasis will be on quality and originality contributing to the knowledge and practice of hospital pharmacists and their colleagues.

EJHP Science
In March 2005 EAHP launched a strong platform – EJHP Science – for publication of scientific output from the hospital pharmacy profession and related disciplines.

EJHP Science now makes pharmaceutical innovation and developments in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences accessible to hospital pharmacists for use in all aspects of their clinical, scientific and professional work.

Mission statement
To provide a strong platform that concentrates the scientific output of the pharmacy profession and related disciplines. This will make pharmaceutical innovation and developments in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences accessible for hospital pharmacists to use in all aspects of their clinical, scientific and professional work.

Scope and profile
The aim of EJHP Science is to publish high quality research papers, review articles and case studies which will be of interest and relevance to various disciplines within hospital and academic pharmacy. To meet these aims, the scope of the Journal is broad and of relevance to pharmacists working in all areas of hospital pharmacy and interested in research in clinical, technical and social pharmacy as well as pharmaco-epidemiology and pharmaco-economics.
