Source : ASHP
Accomplishments by health-system pharmacists that improve the quality of patient care through telecommunications, barcode technology, medication reconciliation, clinical pharmacy and teamwork were honored with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' (ASHP's) Best Practices Award in Health-System Pharmacy on 5 December 2007.
Six teams of practitioners who successfully created and carried out innovative approaches to improve the delivery of patient care within their health systems were honored with the notable award during the Opening General Session of the ASHP 42nd Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas. Sponsored in cooperation with Baxter, the award recognises pharmacists who demonstrate leadership in enhancing patient care and other areas of pharmacy practice.
ASHP established the award in 1999 to recognize and foster innovation in health-system pharmacy. Award recipients presented posters of their programme during a reception in Las Vegas.
Winners' names and summaries of their programmes are available online at www.ashpadvantage.com/bestpractices.
