The European Association of Hospital Pharmacists’ congress in Barcelona, Spain, draws record registration numbers.
14th congress of EAHP
The EAHP Congress as of last Friday (13th March 2009) drew a record 2503 registrations, representing a 25 percent increase from 2008.
Hospital pharmacists, industry representatives, hospital managers and partners will gather in Barcelona, Spain, from 25 to 27 March 2009 to discuss the latest trends in IT and Automation for the Hospitals Pharmacists along with several other topics relevant to hospital pharmacy. The congress will take place at the Barcelona Congress Centre (PCC), where more than 60 exhibitors will display the latest technology, medical devices and pharmaceuticals available to hospital pharmacists.
Drawing attendants to this event is a compelling mix of educational sessions, roundtable discussions, location of the event, product demonstrations and industry-focused networking. "We're delighted to be holding this popular forum for our members and colleagues," said Jacqueline Surugue, President of EAHP. "We are confident they will take advantage of the informative sessions and enjoy seeing some of the practical tools that will make their professional lives easier", she added.
In addition to 12 scientific seminars, repeated over 2 and half days of meetings, the EAHP 14th Congress will also provide hospital pharmacists with exceptional networking opportunities as this is THE place where peers from all over Europe and the rest of the world can meet and exchange ideas. Industry partners will have easy access to their customers via the exhibition which boasts 62 companies demonstrating their know-how and tools over 2 floors of exhibition space. With more than 50 countries represented at the 14th congress, EAHP can be proud to become more and more global.
The scientific content of the congress was designed by a team of experts working in the field, to specifically address the needs of hospital pharmacists of Europe and will cover subjects such as “The role of hospital pharmacists in implementing IT and automation”, “Risk Management of Computerised Physician Order Entry (CPOE)” or “Supporting safe prescribing through E-learning”.
