If you arrive to Barcelona by airplane, the main airport is Barcelona Airport "El Prat". Here is the website of the airport: www.barcelona-airport.com.
Note that a second smaller airport, Girona Airport, located 90 km away from Barcelona, is used by low-cost airlines. Please visit the airport website for more info: www.girona-airport.net.
Bus and coach
Aerobus - Express Bus Service provides a link between the airport and Barcelona downtown (Plaça Espanya or Plaça de Catalunya). You can catch the Aerobus from outside both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Fare: 5.90€ for a single ticket and 10.20€ for a return ticket. Journey time: 30-45 minutes depending on the bus stop.
Important note: Aerobuses for Terminal 1 and for Terminal 2 stop at the same bus stops in the city centre.
If you are going to Barcelona Airport, please note that the bus to T1 is the A1 and the bus to T2 is the A2.
Line 46 provides a service from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to Barcelona downtown (Plaça Espanya). This bus has more stops than the Aerobus and takes a bit more time. It runs approximately every 20 minutes.
Fare: 2.20€. Journey time: 40 minutes for T2 and 55 minutes for T1. However if there is no traffic it could take around 25-35 minutes.
Railway networks
“El Prat” airport is connected to Barcelona city centre by the RENFE train line.
Fare: around 4.00 € depending on the train station where you get off. Journey time: around 25 min.
Please note: if travelling from the airport to the city centre you can get off at Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or Clot which are serviced by the Barcelona metro underground system.
Taxi
Taxi ranks outside any of the main terminal exits.
Fare: around 40€. Journey trip: around 20-30 minutes
