1. Current Status, Position

Prof Dr Gerhard Ecker is Professor of Pharmacoinformatics at the University of Vienna. Since October 1, 2018 he is also Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences.

2. Education

Prof Dr Gerhard Ecker studied Pharmacy at the University of Vienna and performed his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof Wilhelm Fleischhacker. In 2011 he was appointed Full Professor of Pharmacoinformatics at the University of Vienna.

3. Research Area

Prof Dr Ecker's research focuses on computational approaches for prediction of drug-transporter interaction, computational toxicology, as well as data science and mining and analysis of big data in pharmaceutical research
