1. Current position

Senior Inspector at the Public Health Supervisory Service, Health Care Inspectorate.

2. Education

  • 1976-1983: Universiteit Utrecht Msc, Pharm D
  • 1984-1998: he spent 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry: R&D and marketing & sales
  • Since 1998 he works in the Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate as Senior Health Care Inspector. The Dutch Health Care Inspectorate is an autonomous part of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports and involves professionals of medical, psychiatric and pharmaceutical backgrounds.
  • Since 2008 he is a nominated delegate for the European Committee on Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Care, Committee of Experts on Quality and Safety Standards in Pharmaceutical Practices and Pharmaceutical Care; EDQM (European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare), Strasbourg (2008-now)
  • Then he has also gained a management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Roles encompass national and international functions, both in the pharmaceutical industry and in the Dutch Health Care Inspectorate.

3. Research area

Dr. Scheepers' research interests include medicines, hospitals and pharmacies. He has also gained experience in dealing with pharmaceutical issues at the international level. Then, within the Inspectorate, he has several special assignments: magistral preparations and large scale preparations in pharmacies; medicinal gases in hospitals; automated distribution through pharmacies; hospital pharmacies. He attended the PIC/S Expert Circle on Hospital Pharmacy.
