1. Current Status, Position

Ms Laerke Poulsen is the Head of Continued Education Program in pharmacies where she supports the implementation of community pharmacy services and pharmaceutical knowledge.

2. Education

Ms Laerke Poulsen graduated from the University of Copenhagen, faculty of pharmaceutical sciences in 2001. In 2004, Ms Laerke Poulsen got a business degree HD (management and leadership) from the University of Southern Denmark. In 2017, Ms Laerke Poulsen became an Improvement Advisor from Institute of Healthcare Improvement, Boston, US.

3. Research Area

Ms Laerke Poulsen research focuses on the education of staff in nursing homes, the quality assurance and accreditation of the pharmacy and the support of the activities in the project “Patients Safe Hospital”. She implemented a programme of guided learning at the hospital pharmacy and supported the implementation of pharmacists in the emergency ward. She is working towards the development of continued education program at a national level to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in community pharmacies by implementing new platforms of education opportunities to the pharmacies in Denmark, using webinar as a tool.
