2. Education

Rolf Groenwold studied theoretical physics (BSc), as well as medicine (MD, with distinction) at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. After graduating he worked as a physician at the department of internal medicine at Meander Medisch Centrum, Amersfoort. In 2006 he started as a PhD student at the Julius Center and obtained an MSc degree in Clinical Epidemiology (with distinction) in 2008. In May 2009 Rolf obtained his PhD on his thesis 'Quantifying confounding'. Rolf is associate professor of Epidemiology.

3. Research Area

The focus of Rolf's research is on methods for (observational) intervention research (in particular drugs). In 2012, he received a prestigious personal research grant on this topic (ZonMW Veni). His teaching experience includes courses in epidemiology as well as statistics.
