Current Status, Position

Mrs Anita Hogg is currently a Principal Pharmacist in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) in Northern Ireland and Lead in the regional Medicines Optimisation Innovation Centre (MOIC). She is responsible for clinical pharmacy activities and leading and developing best practice in medicines optimisation through research, innovation, quality improvement and knowledge transfer.


Anita Hogg studied pharmacy at the University of Sunderland and registered as a pharmacist in 1994. She obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Supplementary Prescribing in 2004 and qualified as an independent prescriber in 2009. In 2014, Mrs Hogg obtained an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy with Queen's University Belfast.

Research Area

Mrs Hogg's research focuses on medicines system redesign in secondary care and medicines optimisation in hospital and primary care settings and at transitions in care.
