Current Status, Position

Dr Torsten Hoppe-Tichy is currently a Chief Pharmacist at Heidelberg University Hospital. He is also a Lecturer for clinical pharmacy and pharmacoeconomics at the School of Pharmacy at Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg. He is a Member of the Cooperation Unit for Clinical Pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy.

Education

Dr Torsten Hoppe-Tichy studied pharmacy at TU Braunschweig. He became a licensed pharmacist in 1984. He is a specialist in clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical analytics. He obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at TU Braunschweig for a work on Synthesis and Analytics of 1,2,4-Triazolcarbaldehyds.

Research Area

Dr Hoppe-Tichy's research focuses on antimicrobial agents (drug safety, PK, stability), patient safety and pharmacoeconomics.

Conflict of interest

Dr Hoppe-Tichy is organising an educational program for Aesculap and B.Braun. He is also working together with DiHeSys in the field of printing drugs. 

He was previously on the advisory board of Roche.
