1. Current Status, Position

Mrs. Gitte Søndergård Nielsen is the Hospital Pharmacy Manager (CEO) at the Hospital Pharmacy in The North Denmark region, which is one of five regions in Denmark. The region has 3 hospitals on 11 sites with 1,800 beds. The Hospital Pharmacy has 225 employees.

Mrs. Søndergård Nielsen is also the chairman of SAK - the collaboration between the hospital pharmacies in the five regions and Amgros. Amgros is owned by the Regions. SAK work with efficient operation and development of new initiatives within procurement and tendering procedures, manufacture, clinical pharmacy and development of competences.

2. Education

Mrs. Gitte Søndergård Nielsen studied Pharmacy at the University of Copenhagen and graduated in 1995. Gitte Søndergård Nielsen started as Hospital Pharmacy Manager in 2008 and was elected as chairman of SAK in 2017.
