Current Status, Position

Prof. Isabel Spriet is the Head of the clinical pharmacy dpt.in the Pharmacy Department of the University Hospitals Leuven. She is also appointed as Associate professor at the Department of the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences and works in the Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy group.

Education

Prof. Isabel Spriet studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Ghent, and became licensed pharmacist in 2002. In 2003, she obtained the degree of hospital pharmacist, and she completed a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacy in 2004.  In 2011, she obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and was appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Research Area

The research of Isabel Spriet focuses on the organization of clinical pharmacy in the Belgian context and on the optimization of antimicrobial dosing in special patient populations.
