Current Status, Position

Dr Andreas von Ameln-Mayerhofer is currently a Hospital Pharmacist at the Sindelfingen-Boebblingen Medical Center. He is responsible of clinical pharmacy activities, i.e. patient services.

Education

Dr Andreas von Ameln-Mayerhofer studied pharmacy at Freiburg University (Germany) and became a licensed pharmacist in 1996. In 2003, he finished his doctoral thesis at Tuebingen University, in the neuropharmacology and pharmaceutical chemistry departments. The focus of his scientific work was on the neupharmacology of dopamine and serotonin. In 2011, he started specialising on clinical pharmacy, antimicrobial stewardship and infectiology.

Research Area

Dr von Ameln-Mayerhofer's research focuses on neuropsychopharmacology, clinical and renal pharmacy and infectiology. He is mainly interested in the therapeutic drug monitoring anti-infectives.
