1. Current Status, Position

Mrs Despoina Makridaki is currently the Director of Pharmaceutical Services in Sismanoglio-Amalia Fleming General Hospital of Attica.

2. Education

Mrs Despoina Makridaki received her degree in Pharmacy by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1987, an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy by the same school in 1999 and an MBA in Management of Healthcare Units by the National School of Public Health in 2018. She has a 30-years experience in Hospital Pharmacy served in both Oncological (15 years) and General Hospital (15 years). She was appointed and served as the 1^st vice-president of the National Organization for Medicines for 40 months (from April 2015 until 5^th of June 2018) and joined EMA Management Board during the same period. She joined the COST-Action CA15105 on Medicines Shortages as delegate of Greece. Mrs Despoina Makridaki is a member of the EAHP Board (Director of Professional Development) since June 2017 and a member of EAHP Scientific Committee since September 2014. She has been a delegate from Greece for more than 10 years in ESOP and is also President of the Panhellenic Association of Hospital Pharmacists (PEFNI) since 2013.

3. Research Area

Clinical and Oncology Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, Pricing, Procurement and Reimbursement Procedures (member of National Committee on monitoring Pharmaceutical Expenditure and Therapeutic Protocols at the Ministry of Health since 2015), IT applications in hospital pharmacy, Certification of Procedures, Quality Management, Falsified Medicines, Health Technology Assessment (HTA)
