1. Current Status, Position
Prof Dr Christoph Hiemke is retired since 2014 but still active in the field of therapeutic drug monitoring (member and co-chair of the AGNP TDM task force) and drug-drug interactions. Leading author of consensus guidelines for TDM in psychiatry and neurology published in 2011 and updated in 2017.
2. Education
Prof Dr Hiemke studied biology at the University of Bonn. He obtained a PhD degree in pharmacology at the University of Bonn in 1977. From 1973-1987, he was post doc fellow at the Institute of Physiological Chemistry, University of Essen, Germany and he was qualified (Habilitation) in biochemistry in 1986. He was nominated Professor of Neurochemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany in 1987 and became head of the laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry. The laboratroy was responsible for TDM in psychiatry. In 2013 he retired. Currently he is involved in the education of students of pharmacy.
