EMA - EAHP collaboration

EAHP has a long-standing collaboration with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and is involved in a wide range of activities:

Roberto Frontini alternate member of PRAC

Dr Roberto Frontini, former Director of Pharmacy at the University Hospital of Leipzig in Germany, served as President of EAHP from 2009 to 2015,  is  an alternate member of the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to represent healthcare professionals from mid-June 2019 until the end of February 2022.

The Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) is the European Medicines Agency's (EMA) committee responsible for assessing and monitoring the safety of human medicines.

EAHP’s membership in the Healthcare Professionals' Working Party (HCPWP)

The European Medicines Agency has established a formal HCPWP to further involve this group of stakeholders in its range of activities. The role of the HCPWP is to provide recommendations to the Agency on all matters of interest to healthcare professionals in relation to medicines. EAHP has joined the HCPWP in 2013, when it was established. As an active member, EAHP has provided recommendations to the EMA and its human scientific committees on all matters of interest in relation to medicines such as for example medicines shortages and vaccines.
 

EMA consultations and participation in workshops

EMA consultations are of great interest to EAHP members. Consequenlty, EAHP regularly participates in in both the public and the expert consultations of the agency.
