1. Current Status, Position

Dr. Garcia (Master in Pharmacy, PhD in Pharmacy) is associate professor at the University of Tromsø, in Norway.

2. Education

Dr. Garcia has obtained a PhD within clinical pharmacy in 2012and a master in pharmacy in 2003. She is teaching clinical pharmacy and pharmacotherapy for bachelor and master students in pharmacy and holds a 20% position at the Hospital Pharmacy of North Norway Trust within research. She is also part of the research group IPSUM (identification and prevention of suboptimal use of medications) at the University of Tromsø.

3. Research Area

Her research area is mainly clinical pharmacy, both qualitative and quantitative. Dr. Garcia focuses her research on medication safety, development and application of methodology to identify inappropriate medication therapy, identification of medication information needs, intervention development to improve the quality of medication therapy and analysis and qualitative methodology to evaluate effect of interventions.
